Pirie v Saunders (1961) 104 CLR 149

This case considered the requirement of writing regarding contracts and whether or not solicitors notes could be provided as proof that a contract existed.  It also considered the issue of the concept of authenticated signature fiction and whether or not the solicitors notes were acknowledged as authentic by one of the parties.
