This case considered the judicial power of the Commonwealth and whether or not the issuing of warrants by the Federal Court under the Telecommunications Interception Act of 1979 was a breach of the separation powers doctrine and whether the power to issue a warrant was conferred on the federal court or the judge as a designated person.
