Golden Eagle International Trading P/L v Zhang (2007) 229 CLR 498

This case considered the issue of damages and whether or not an award of damages for injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident should be reduced for a proportion relating to contributory negligence before or after a reduction of interim payments made prior to judgment.  Also whether or not in the assessment of these damages the life expectancy tables should be based on historical or prospective figures.
