Commonwealth Trading Bank of Australia v Sydney Wide Stores (1981) 148 CLR 304

This case considered the issue of the duties in relation to drawing cheques and whether or not a contractual duty existed between the customer and the bank in relation to preventing fraudulent alterations to be made to cheques which might cause a loss to the bank.
